About the NIE Program

Newspaper In Education (NIE) provides newspapers for classrooms to help students understand our changing world and reinforce basic learning skills. The sponsorship program is a vital link connecting businesses, civic organizations, individuals, schools and NIE. The goal is to form a partnership between the sponsors and the educational communities to develop skilled readers, writers and communicators who will lead our nation in the 21st Century.

The NIE Sponsorship Program is a vital link connecting businesses, civic organizations, individuals, schools and NIE. The goal is to form a partnership between the sponsor and the educational communities to develop skilled readers, writers and communicators who will lead our nation in the 21st century.

Be a Block Sale Sponsor:
Block Sales are held periodically to benefit students through Newspaper In Education. Sponsors participate by donating an item or service worth a minimum of $50, which is then sold to the public for $35. Larger donations are also accepted and sold as Bonus Blocks. It’s a great way to get your name, product or services out in the community and the funds generated are used to supply newspapers to local classrooms.

Be a Golf Open Sponsor:
The Courier-Intell Open is an annual golf tournament that benefits students through Newspaper In Education. Businesses can participate by purchasing a foursome or twosome golf package, sponsoring a hole or making a commitment as a specialty sponsor.
