Our Dad was voted best doctor and is the best Dad too. He always finds time to help us with our homework, and takes care of us when we are sick. He also helps all the neighbor kids too when they are sick. He helps us with scouting and volunteers to make props for our school plays. He never complains when we know he is so tired, and he still lets us have a lot of kids over for a sleepover. He never yells at us when all the neighbor kids come to our house to play man hunt (hide and seek at night) and we trample all over his landscaping that he put in himself. He loves all children not just us..

My dad is definitely one-of-a-kind. He came into our lives a few years after my mom divorced my biological father. It didn't take long for him to win us over. He stepped up immediately and accepted responsibility as father to two young children, since our birth father was completely absent from our lives. My parents married in 1985 when my dad was only 22. At the time, my brother was 6 and I was 4. There are not many men who will give up their bachelor lifestyles in their early 20s to raise someone elses children. He loved us like his own, and still does. In 1992, my dad adopted my brother and me. In my heart, he had been my father for years, but I still remember that day on the steps of the courthouse in Doylestown and how happy I was to officially be his daughter.

Is your Dad a life saving bug squisher? An impromptu ice cream party thrower? A competitive shopping cart racer? The BEST Rice Crispy Treat maker? How about a surprisingly decent shopper? A big hugger and a prickly-faced kisser? A great concert date and impressively good at meeting the band? Does he come to every game, school concert, and important event? Is he there always when you need him most? Is he tough when he needs to be and a total mush sometimes too? Is he a patient driving teacher? A surprise tickle attacker? A cheesesteak connoisseur? Is he a pretty reliable source for gas money? The perfect coffee partner? Not too intimidating to your boyfriend? How about cool in front of your friends? Well my dad is all of these things and many more, and that’s why I am lucky enough to say that I have the very best dad.

After working for 50+ years & raising his own family, my father forfeited retirement to help me raise my 3 month old daughter. And, over the past 15 years he's proudly played the role of father, grandfather, best friend & confidant. I was working full-time & attending college so it was he who proudly walked in her pre-school parades; followed her bus the first day of kindergarten & taught her how to ride a bike. He wrote her silly poems every day before school until she was 8, drives car pool & takes her dress shopping. Most people don’t even know his name as he’s simply known as Pop by everyone. He’s helped me raise my beautiful baby to a beautiful young adult, all while supporting & lifting me up when I thought I couldn't go on. At age 73 he continues to teach us (by example) kindness & compassion.

My name is Stephanie McAllister. My sister Caitlin, my brother Matthew and I would like to nominate my dad, John McAllister for the best dad award. Throughout the years my family and I have been through a lot. About 14 years ago my sister Caitlin needed a kidney transplant. Caitlin was infected with ecoli and it ruined both of her kidneys. My dad gave my sister Caitlin one of his kidneys. Over the past 14 years we have been in and out of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Besides the kidney transplant, my dad has been an amazing dad. My dad has coached all different sports teams for my sister, brother and I and he has never missed a single game.My dad runs two small businesses and works very hard to give my family the best life that he can. Every day I wish his parents were here to see all the amazing things he has accomplished and what an amazing husband and father he has become.

Whether my dad was teaching me how to ride a bike, or telling me stories as we walked through the park he is always there for me. My name is Leah & I'm fourteen years old. I believe that my dad is the best in the world. Growing up in Chalfont is a great experience & my dad makes it ten times better. The two of us are a great team. I remember taking bike rides with him in our neighborhood. There was this one hill I could never get up. My dad told me to look at the sidewalk instead of the top of the hill. Ever since this good advice I knew that I could trust my dad. He also showed me that he will back me up on anything I want to do. Today, my dad works two jobs. One full & one part time. To do this he gets up at 3 o'clock & then when he comes home he still has time to take my brother to his sports. Lately he has been going to work on the weekends to pay for family expenses. A few years ago my mom got colon cancer & it was hard on all of us, especially my dad. Even though this was a rough patch he stuck through & took the job as mom & dad. These are the reasons why my dad is the best dad in the WORLD!
